The arrows allow you to choose in which direction(s) the words will be read when inserted into the search. At least one direction must be switched on before creating a search. If all the directions are switched off and you try to create a search then all of the directions will be switched on before the search is created. The 'All on' and All off' buttons do just that to the directions.

By default the program shows the creation of the search on screen. This requires a lot of printing to the screen which slows down the process of creating the search. Clicking on the 'Fast' button will switch off the printing and speed up the process by as much as 20 times. When you click on 'Fast' it changes to 'Slow' ready for the next click.

  24. This starts the creation of the search.

  30. Clicking on this will pause the creation process until a mouse click or key is pressed.

  36. Clicking on this will stop the creation process. This action is only checked after a  successful or unsuccessful attempt at fitting a word. this means that there may sometimes be a short delay before the process stops.
